2011 Year
In spite of a number of weather relater problems the 8.5 acres of soybeans
on the George Brubaker Farm have been harvested and sold resulting in another fine contribution to the Foods Resource Bank
mission projects. The beans yielded 50.6 bushels per acre. Harvesting was again one of George's many challenges but after
3 different attempts the mission was accomplished. Nearly 35 families were direct sponsors to the project plus a number of
cooperators who provided labor, equipment and supplies needed for producing and marketing the final product. The result was
a donation of over $5000 to FRB programs supported by United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and others.

Men's Group 2011 Soup & Sandwich Supper
Supports Local Food Pantry
The soup & sandwich supper held on November 20 at Independence UMC generated
a donation of $330 to the food pantry. The event was well attended. Food was plentiful including 3 sandwich choices, five
soups plus cake, fruit, cookies, pies, drinks and more. Will Riley Hinton (area author from Napoleon)
entertained the group in a relaxed - story telling atmosphere. A member present had read at least one of his books and many
purchased autographed copies. Thanks to all for supporting this mission project.
